Dignified and Gainful Employment
Youth Horizons Kenya in partnership with her development partners aims at increasing dignified and gainful employment opportunities for the out of school youth 18 to 35 years in both formal/informal employment by building the capacity of youth in, vocational skills, work readiness, employability skills and further facilitate linkages to profitable markets, market infrastructure, youth friendly/affordable financial services, job/employment and enterprise development support.
Our key innovation in skilling is creation of mobile vocational skilling centers. To determine skills gaps, we conduct labor surveys after which youth are mobilized into training cohorts based on desired skills arising from identified gaps, local artisans are identified for specific required skills and trained in participatory training methodologies and youth engagement principles ,community structures are then identified and modified into fully equipped training centers where the youth are then taken through a 3 months hands on skilling conducted by local artisans and later a one month apprenticeship

The Girl Child Program
Youth Horizons has established a GIRL CHILD PROGRAM whose aim is to provide a permanent approach to addressing the many challenges faced by the girl child in our region. It has grown out of the recognition that the girl child is in many cases very vulnerable to unforeseen circumstances like the sudden death of their parents, lack of employment and also living in slum areas. The sad story is that girls are often being turned into sexual slaves by the men in the estates, while others run the risk of engaging in illicit sex if not well taken care of. Indeed our concern is based on the notion that they will not be able to exploit their full potential as a person due to all kinds of cultural practices and believes that still prevail in many parts of Kenya. Still many others are still being forced to undergo the FGM.

Youth Arts
Youth Horizon has designed Arts to give arts agencies, juvenile justice agencies, social service organizations, and other community-based organizations detailed information about how to plan, run, provide training, and evaluate arts programs for youth and those at risk. The impact of arts programs on adolescent behavior and the risk and protective factors associated with behavioral problems and delinquency. Youth Arts shows that arts programs really can have an impact on youth. Not only can such programs enhance young peoples' attitudes about themselves and their futures, but the programs also can increase academic achievement and decrease delinquent behavior. Arts Programmes helps in reduction of substance abuse, rehabilitations and offer education programmes.
